All generics are also free to use.(There were weird rollbacks etc. So by the time I found out Shigemi was on my team, I'd already dismissed her, oops.)Turn 1 begins at.

I feed Rance some books, and then end the session because I'm conflicted as to how to proceed. Instinct screams at me to use Rance to take over the capital of Kyo, but I can't because of Isoroku scripted loss scenes.

My first time through was a trainwreck, I managed to beat it with a lot of trial and error.IMO your first playthrough of Rance is nothing more then getting a grasp on all the stuff you have to manage. I would say on your first playthrough just go at it and see what happens. Around your 3rd time through and onwards you should start to understand the best ways to get results. As for clearing characters, do it if you can but it's best left for later once you have gotten all the endings and stuff, there are a fuckton of CG's and characters to obtain and some of them are really out of the way and take a lot of effort.
Also feel free to ask me anything else if you run into problems, I have actually gotten Sengoku Rance to 100% completion after.a lot of work. Going into Sengoku Rance without a guide is a bit.brave. Things can get confusing, you don't know the mechanics, you don't know who to attack and who to leave alone, which commanders are good, how to spend your precious money, etc.For my first playthrough, I used Ace's Third Action Fan Walkthrough, found. I too had difficulty starting out, but this particular walkthrough solves that issue by walking you through several of the game mechanics, all the while working towards getting the third action fan by the 14th turn. And the guide remains open-ended after the 14th turn too, so it only strictly defines your early game.If you're totally opposed to using a guide, then trial and error would be the only thing left. You can fiddle around the beginning multiple times through multiple start-overs to get a feel for it, and then launch into a serious playthrough. Didn't read the rest of replies but this is how I enjoyed the game.1.
Playhalfthrough: without any walkthrough, just some starting information about what does some stuff mean. Even though I honestly wasn't sure what I am doing I kinda enjoyed the game until I found myself in blind spot , so I started once again with basic walkthrough for first 10 turns and thanks to this walkthrough and previous experience I was able to complete true route (w/o any points tho). So I guess experimenting and playing even though you know it's not the best playthrough is the best way imho.Using walkthrough for whole game sucks because you won't learn much so might have some real problems with next playthroughs (if routes). I just started playing this rather recently, and to be honest, using a guide (I used the gamefaq one) is actually a pretty good option. It gets you a decent amount of bonuses for 2nd+ games and gives you a general idea of what to do and what not to do as you play along. It will also give you some info on some character and countries and how they work in the game (ie senhime and how she leaves after not fighting for 3?
Turns and how she has to lose 3 times to be able to be cleared).Once you have a good grasp of the mechanics, then you can start doing things yourself. Use reference to the wiki since there are a LOT of things that you will not know about such as how to enter the IF routes.
The company began in 1989 making games for the,. As the average person generally has a level cap in the single digits, someone with a level cap in the mid thirties is considered comparable to an elite soldier. For the most part, however, all of the major players in the Rance universe have level caps of forty or higher, with Rance (and, theoretically, his descendants) having no level cap at all!.: The main characters of the Dai games are all incredibly talented alpha males who excel in pretty much everything.
